Grounds Control of Huntsville is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator specializing in site work and grading to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs, preparing bids, and providing valuable insights for construction projects focused on site-work and grading.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and engineering drawings to understand the scope of work and requirements.
• Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and cost estimates for site work and grading activities, including earthwork, excavation, utilities, drainage, and erosion control.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate quotes and pricing for materials, equipment, and services.
• Prepare detailed and competitive bids and proposals for site work and grading projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
• Evaluate and compare subcontractor bids and negotiate contracts to secure the most favorable terms and conditions.
• Continuously monitor and update cost databases and estimating software to ensure accuracy and efficiency in estimating processes.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project kick-off meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and constraints.
• Work closely with project managers and construction teams to provide ongoing cost analysis, value engineering, and budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to identify potential cost-saving measures and alternative construction methods without compromising quality.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and material costs to provide accurate cost projections and recommendations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator specializing in site work and grading within the construction industry.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience.
• In-depth knowledge of site work and grading processes, including earthwork calculations, cut and fill analysis, and drainage requirements.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills to perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimations.
• Familiarity with estimating software and tools, such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar applications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in estimating project costs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
